One game grade for Jaromir Jagr and Habs Plekanec

Every year the World Hockey Championship rekindles interest in Jaromir Jagr this side of the hockey world. With this in mind I've decided to post a one-game grade for Jagr. For comparison's sake I've included the grade for Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec as well.

The report is from the 3-0 quarter-final win over the United States. Both Plekanec and Jagr put up big offensive numbers in the game, resulting in an overall grade of 76 for Jagr and 77 for Plekanec. Plekanec (#82) won all 7 of his offensive-zone puck-battles, while Jagr (#68) completed 87% of his offensive-zone pass-attempts.

Plekanec was equally successful in the defensive-zone, winning all 4 of his defensive-zone puck-battles. Jagr however, was unable to win either of his 2 neutral-zone puck-battles, but was successful with 6 of his 7 attempts to carry the puck into the offensive-zone.

Jagr was constantly involved in the play, as he averaged 5.73 events per minute played. while posting an impressive 3.02 risk / reward rating. Plekanec averaged 3.99 events per minute played, and had an equally impressive 2.40 risk / reward rating.

The majority of Jagr's events per minute occured in the offensive-zone, as the big forward averaged 3.27 offensive-events per minute played. He ended the game with a 1.54 o-zone risk /reward rating. Plekanec offensive-zone risk reward rating was 0.85;  an incredible 0.75 events per minute above his regular season average.
