2012 NHL Draft: One-game Scouting Report for Cody Ceci

Cody Ceci is a 6'3" 209 lbs right-handed defensemen playing for the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League. Ceci is a strong skater despite an unusual skating posture. At the time of this report, Ceci was the second-leading scorer among defensemen in the OHL with 51 points in 51 games. He was the 16th-ranked North American skater on Central Scoutings midtem rankings.

This one-game scouting report is from a 5-2 win over the Sarnia Sting on January 27th, 2012. It's important to note that Ceci was matched up against highly-touted prospect Nail Yakupov the entire game. 


OVERALL GRADE

Ceci had a well above-average overall grade of 81. His grade was helped by a goal and an assist during the game. Comparing Ceci's 1-game grade to defensive-prospects covered for the 2011 draft, Ceci's grade places him above such prospects as Connor Murphy, Oscar Klefbom, and Nathan Beaulieu.
