The below graph is a visual representation of each Montreal Canadiens player's success-rate when engaging in puck-battles. A puck-battle occurs when two players battle for a loose-puck in tight quarters. The difference between a puck-battle and loose-puck recovery is distinguished by a player's positioning. If there is physical contact at the point of recovery, it is considered a puck-battle; otherwise it is considered a loose-puck recovery.
A player can also be credited with a won puck-battle by removing puck-possession from an opposing player, and can be credited with a lost puck-battle by getting beat 1on1 (deke) by an opposing player.
