2012 NHL DRAFT: One-game Scouting report for Faksa and Hertl from WJHC

This one-game scouting report is from the December 28th World Junior Hockey Championship game between Canada and the Czech Republic. Canada won the game by a score of 5-0.

#16 Radek Faksa is the CSB's 7th ranked North American skater. He's a 6'3", 202 lbs left-handed forward with an impressive defensive-game. He can also add some offense, as he scored 29 goals and added 37 assists in 62 games with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers.

#19 Tomas Hertl is Central Scouting's 5th ranked European skater. He's a 6'2", 198 lbs left-handed forward. He has already played pro hockey in the Czech Republic, where he's scored 12 goals, and added 13 assists in 38 games.

OVERALL GRADE

Both players were used sparingly. As such, they earned substantially below-average grades. They seemed over-matched at times. #16 Faksa in particular, played limited minutes, and saw his overall grade hurt  by his poor play killing penalties. In contrast, his grade was helped by his play in the neutral-zone. Hertl played more minutes. As such, his grade was better. That said, his offensive-zone play did nothing to improve his mark.
