NHL DRAFT: One-game Scouting Report for Ryan Murray and Tanner Pearson (WJHC)

Canada's Ryan Murray and Tanner Pearson are both eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry draft. Murray is Central Scouting's 2nd ranked North American skater, while Pearson is more of a wild card; ranked 25th in North America, he could be picked as early as 15th or late in the second round.

Murray (#27) is a left-handed defenseman who played on the right-side through most of the World Junior Hockey Championship. He played a regular shift, as well as on the top penalty-killing unit. The 6'0" 198 lbs defenseman was the youngest player on Canada's roster. He scored 9 goals and added 22 assists through 46 WHL games. He was also named to Canada's World Championship roster.

Pearson (#15) is a 6'0", 185 lbs forward who went undrafted through 2 NHL drafts. He started the tournament as Canada's 13th forward, but has been consistently used on the top powerplay unit. He scored 37 goals and added 54 assists through 60 OHL games. He has a heavy shot, and a quick release.

This report is from Canada's 5-0 win over the Czech Republic on December 28th.
