The Montreal Canadiens ended the season with a .378 winning-percentage. PK Subban played in 81 of the team's 82 games. When Subban was in the line-up the Habs winning-percentage rose slightly to .382.

OFFENSIVE-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's offensive-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and shots that hit the net by the total number of attempted shots, dekes and passes.

Subban had an offensive-zone possession success-rate above 80% in 15 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 6-9 record, and a winning-percentage of .400. In games where Subban's o-zone possession rating was above 60%, the Habs winning-percentage was .415.

NEUTRAL-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's neutral-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and dump-ins by the total number of attempted passes, dekes and dump-ins.

Subban had a neutral-zone possession success-rate of 100% in 25 games. In those games the Canadiens had an 11-14 record, and a winning-percentage of .440. In games where Subban's n-zone possession rating was above 80%, the Habs winning-percentage was .400.

DEFENSIVE-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's defensive-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and dump-outs by the total number of attempted shots, dekes and dump-outs.

Subban had a defensive-zone possession success-rate above 80% in 21 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 6-15 record, and a winning-percentage of  only .285. Inexplicably, in games where Subban's d-zone possession rating dropped below 70%, the Habs winning-percentage rose to .481.

OFFENSIVE-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's offensive-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, and intercepted opposition passes by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, and opportunities to intercept opposition passes. For defensemen, it is predominately a reflection of how successful a d-man is at pinching, or holding the puck in at the blueline.

Subban had an offensive-zone defensive success-rate of 100% in 31 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 16-15 record, and a respectable winning-percentage of .516. In games where Subban's o-zone defensive rating dropped below 80%, the Habs winning-percentage dropped to .241; possibly due to an increase in odd-man rushes.

NEUTRAL-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's neutral-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, and intercepted opposition passes by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, and opportunities to intercept opposition passes. The fact that the play is usually coming toward a defenseman in the neutral-zone, typically allows d-men to produce much higher n-zone defensive-ratings than forwards

Subban had a neutral-zone defensive success-rate of 100% in 39 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 14-25 record, and a winning-percentage of .359.

DEFENSIVE-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's defensive-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, intercepted opposition passes, and blocked shots by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, opportunities to intercept opposition passes, and opportunities to block shots.

Subban had a defensive-zone defensive success-rate above 80% in 14 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 6-8 record, and a winning-percentage of .429. In games where Subban's d-zone defensive rating dropped below 80%, the Habs winning-percentage was .444.

Among these 6 categories, Subban's offensive-zone defensive-rating proved to have the biggest impact on the Canadiens record. A dip in success-rate of 20% consequently dropped the Canadiens winning-percentage from .516 to just .241.
