The Montreal Canadiens ended the season with a .378 winning-percentage. Tomas Kaberle played in 41 of the team's 82 games. When Kaberle was in the line-up the Habs winning-percentage was .390.

OFFENSIVE-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's offensive-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and shots that hit the net by the total number of attempted shots, dekes and passes.

Kaberle had an offensive-zone possession success-rate above 80% in 14 games. In those games the Canadiens had an 8-6 record, and an impressive winning-percentage of .571. In games where Kaberle's o-zone possession rating was below 80%, the Habs winning-percentage dropped to .280.

NEUTRAL-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's neutral-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and dump-ins by the total number of attempted passes, dekes and dump-ins.

Kaberle had a neutral-zone possession success-rate of 100% in 18 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 4-14 record, and a winning-percentage of .222.

DEFENSIVE-ZONE POSSESSION SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's defensive-zone puck-possession success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful passes, dekes, and dump-outs by the total number of attempted shots, dekes and dump-outs.

Kaberle had a defensive-zone possession success-rate above 80% in 18 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 6-12 record, and a winning-percentage of  only .333. In games where Kaberle's d-zone possession rating dropped below 70%, the Habs winning-percentage rose slightly to .416.

OFFENSIVE-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's offensive-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, and intercepted opposition passes by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, and opportunities to intercept opposition passes. For defensemen, it is predominately a reflection of how successful a d-man is at pinching, or holding the puck in at the blueline.

Kaberle had an offensive-zone defensive success-rate of 100% in 12 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 7-5 record, and a respectable winning-percentage of .583. In games where Kaberle's o-zone defensive rating dropped below 80%, the Habs winning-percentage dropped to .250; possibly due to an increase in odd-man rushes.

NEUTRAL-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's neutral-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, and intercepted opposition passes by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, and opportunities to intercept opposition passes. The fact that the play is usually coming toward a defenseman in the neutral-zone, typically allows d-men to produce much higher n-zone defensive-ratings than forwards

Kaberle had a neutral-zone defensive success-rate of 100% in 18 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 7-11 record, and a winning-percentage of .389.

DEFENSIVE-ZONE DEFENSIVE SUCCESS-RATE BY GAME

A player's defensive-zone defensive success-rate is calculated by dividing the number of successful puck-battles, loose-puck recoveries, intercepted opposition passes, and blocked shots by the total number of puck-battles, loose-puck recovery attempts, opportunities to intercept opposition passes, and opportunities to block shots.

Kaberle had a defensive-zone defensive success-rate above 80% in 9 games. In those games the Canadiens had a 5-4 record, and a winning-percentage of .555. In games where Kaberle's d-zone defensive rating dropped below 80%, the Habs winning-percentage was .333.

Among these 6 categories, Kaberle's offensive-zone possession, offensive-zone defensive, and defensive-zone defensive success-rates proved to have the biggest impact on the Canadiens record. A dip in success-rate of 20% in offensive-zone defensive consequently dropped the Canadiens winning-percentage from .583 to just .250, while a dip of 20% in defensive-zone defensive dropped the team's winning percentage from .555 to .333. A drop in 20% for offensive-zone possession moved the winning-percentage from .571 to .280.

EVEN-STRENGTH ICE-TIME

The Habs best results with Kaberle in the line-up came when he played between 10 and 12 even-strength minutes. In those games, Montreal had a 7-3 record and a .700 winning-percentage.

SHORT-HANDED ICE-TIME

POWERPLAY ICE-TIME

With Kaberle on the powerplay, the Habs record was 17-25; for a .405 winning-percentage.
